People who always overeat (that was me) eat their food very fast along with taking large bites (that was me also). Eating slower cannot only help improve your digestion, but can better allow you to enjoy what you are eating. Eating slower can also help you eat less by stopping you sooner because you feel satisfied sooner. You can also use the 20-minute rule to help you eat less.
